Equity Team Mission

  • Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School is committed to and accountable for advancing equity and excellence for all of our students. We will provide equitable opportunities for high level, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences for all students and staff, regardless of racial/ethnic background, economic condition, or dimensions of identity. We are committed to addressing equity issues that are in our control and create awareness and action around the social and cultural contexts within our world.

BBCHS believes in establishing equity as a driving focus in district initiatives in order to eliminate the opportunity gap and ensure equitable opportunities for all students, no matter their gender, race, ethnicity, or zip code. Additionally, our goal is to infuse multiple perspectives into our curriculum design. The goal is that students not only see themselves represented in curriculum resources, but also empower them to seek alternative perspectives outside of their own experiences.

We are committed to disrupting inequities and their negative impact, eliminating the persistent disparities, and implementing new policies and practices that support significant learning outcomes for all students on their pathway to success.

In order to achieve educational equity, we must apply principles of fairness and justice in the allocation of resources and work towards the elimination of institutional barriers to access and opportunity. We aim to ensure that funding, policies, practices, and initiatives will enable every student to receive what they need to maximize their success. In order to foster growth toward equity, we must stay engaged in courageous conversations and reflection, seek multiple perspectives, and analyze ongoing measurement of our efforts.
