Activities and Athletics

  • Best Buddies: Best Buddies is a club that pairs students with disabilities with their general education non-disabled peers. Students that participate create lifetime friendships that extend beyond the walls of BBCHS. Club members can take part in monthly club activities or schedule social outings on their own. There are approximately 200-300 students that join Best Buddies on an annual basis making this organization one of the largest at BBCHS.  The BBCHS Best Buddies Chapter has been recognized both on the state and national levels.  The organization has received the Illinois Chapter of the Year Award and the International Charter of the Year Award.

Boilermaker Fall Games: The Boilermaker Fall Games is an annual event held in the football stadium at Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the acceptance and inclusion of students with disabilities.  Special Services Programs from throughout the region come together to compete in a fun-filled day of sports and recreational activities. The event draws over 500 student participants and best buddies.

Special Olympics: The Special Olympic teams of BBCHS continue to build on it's tradition of sportsmanship, fair play, and success in and out of the sports arena. Our students have the opportunity to compete competitively with other Special Olympics programs in Basketball, Swimming, Track & Field, and Unified Bocce Ball.
